"For years, before coming to Switchpoint, my daughter and I were running away from physical, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse. I had experienced being in shelters as a child and thought I knew what to expect. Switchpoint was vastly different. I had been struggling to hold a job down because of being homeless without a car, due to the abuse. Handling that while taking care of a 4-year-old was beyond fathomable. Switchpoint discovered my dream of being a singer/performer and helped me participate in a festival. They helped me to attend a 5-week parenting class. These people said “You’re not alone and you will make it. We promise. You just have to believe in yourself.” The impact that their support had on me and my daughter's life can never be measured.
