Dr. David Dangerfield, Board President 
Dr. Dangerfield is a distinguished mental health care professional with a career spanning more than 50 years as an advocate, advisor, and visionary working to provide greater access, better treatment, hopeful outcomes, and more opportunities for those with mental illness. He has created numerous services that enable people to live productive lives in their communities through developing affordable housing, skills development training, educational opportunities, and employment. He is a published author of textbook, monographs, and articles in major professional journals. Honors include the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare Lifetime Achievement Award and the Mental Health Association of Utah Comprehensive Service Provider Award.

Doug Thomas– MSW, LCSW Community Health Director, Intermountain Healthcare

Doug worked in state and county mental health and substance use disorder services as a psych tech, case manager, therapist and administrator for over 25 years enhancing prevention, treatment and recovery support services throughout Utah before retiring from the State and joining Intermountain in 2021.  He has a passion for education, prevention and early intervention work related to mental well-being for individuals, families and communities and enjoys serving in this community coalition and church.  He and his wife are the proud parents of two young adults.  Doug enjoys soccer, hiking, running, biking, reading and spending time listening to a wide variety of music.

Wayne Hepworth, Treasurer – Wayne grew up on a farm in Idaho.  Early life was farming and owning/operating grain elevators.  Wayne moved to St George in 1986 and was involved in the securities business.  Retired in 2018, spending 7 years with Edward Jones and 25 years with Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor and manager of the office.  Wayne and his wife, Linda enjoy a blended family of 15 children.

St George resident since 1985, married to Peggy, together we have two adult children. 45 year career in city planning. Glad to be part of Switchpoint, which is a wonderful organization that is doing good throughout Washington County and elsewhere.

Mary Helen Stricklin MSN, RNC Palliative Care Nursing Director, Intermountain Healthcare

Mary Helen has been an RN for 44 years working in a variety of specialties most recently working in nursing administration for 20 years.

She is passionate about helping people live the healthiest lives possible and supporting those with chronic serious illness live the highest quality of life.

Mary Helen has 2 children and 7 grandchildren.  She loves to hike and bike and participate  any outdoor activities. She is active in church and community service.

Jeri Schnitker worked in the legal and accounting fields, working as a paralegal in the corporate, tax planning and preparation, probate, and retirement plan design and administration areas of the law and was employed by the Foundation of Dixie Regional Medical Center for 15 years.

Ms. Schnitker has always been active in her community and has been involved as a volunteer in several non-profit areas.  She has served on the Board of Trustees of Switchpoint Community Resource Center for over two years.

Jimmie Hughes
Jimmie Hughes a native of St George, Utah with his wife Tawny owns and operates Hughes Mortuary as well as a cattle ranch on the Arizona strip. Jimmie grew up farming and ranching. “Being outdoors and working hard is mind-clearing and a form of relaxation for me. It is a great place to teach our 5 children about hard work.  On the ranch, we like to say we are not just raising cattle but we are raising kids!”
Jimmie currently serves on the St George City Council and other commissions and has been on the board of Switchpoint since the beginning in 2014.

Chris Healy

Most widely known as the previous Human Resources/Safety professional at Blue Bunny, St. George, Dr. Chris Healy is currently an Assistant Professor of Management at Utah Tech where she teaches Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, and Management. She holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, an MA in Human Resource Management, and several professional certifications. Chris’s 30+ years of professional experience includes development and implementation of several employee talent acquisition and performance management programs for companies such as Blue Bunny Ice Cream, Performance Foodservice, Sysco, SUU, and McLane. Chris is currently the U.S. Small Business Administration’s subject matter expert for the T.H.R.I.V.E. program. Chris is the owner of Healyum Human Resources. LLC and is a a contributor to many boards and committees to include the SwitchPoint Community Resource Center, Color Country Human Resources Association, Associated General Contractors (AGC) St. George Workforce Readiness Committee, Because International Accelerator Program, and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). Previous board commitments included Utah State Workforce Investment Board, Leadership Dixie, Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee, and United Way Dixie
