At Switchpoint, we understand the profound impact of homelessness on individuals and communities. We are one of the agencies they have chosen to support. The Utah Impact Partnership (UIP) will match the State of Utah’s $15 million with an additional $15 million from community sources.
These funds will boost statewide homeless services, following guidelines set by the Utah Homeless Council and aligned with new planning and accountability measures.
The Community Foundation of Utah stewards the Utah Impact Partnership Fund to coordinate and facilitate philanthropic investments on behalf of the Utah Impact Partnership.
The Utah Impact Partnership, a collaborative effort aimed at addressing the complex issue of homelessness in Utah. In this blog, we will delve into the significance of this partnership and its transformative effect on the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
Recognizing the Need for Change
In 2021, the Gartner Policy Institute conducted a study on homelessness in Utah, highlighting the necessity for a paradigm shift in addressing this pressing issue. The Utah Impact Partnership emerged as a proactive response, uniting major philanthropists, corporate entities, and the state government to create lasting change and improve the lives of individuals affected by homelessness.
Collaborative Problem-Solving
One of the primary goals of the Utah Impact Partnership is to bring together diverse stakeholders, each with their unique:
- Expertise
- Resources
- Perspectives.
The partnership aims to strategically tackle homelessness and measure its impact by fostering collaboration and collective action. This unified approach sets it apart as a pioneering effort that acknowledges the multifaceted nature of the issue.
Holistic Support and Coordination
To effectively address homelessness, the Utah Impact Partnership recognizes the importance of coordination and communication among various entities involved. With the passage of House Bill 347, a system of coordination was established to ensure that efforts are aligned and resources are utilized efficiently. This new governance model has improved communication, enhanced collaboration, and a more cohesive approach to helping individuals transition from homelessness to stable housing.
